BRFMU Moving to New Operations Center to Help Better Serve Our Customers

After many months of construction, a long overdue new home for Black River Falls Municipal Utility staff is set to be complete in November (a month ahead of schedule!). This greatly needed building is located at 349 South McKinley Street. Staff move in is scheduled for November 15 and 16, during which the Utility office will be closed to the public. BRFMU staff anticipates that it will take two days to move the office staff into the new building and ensure all business IT and phone systems are functioning properly.  The phone service will be interrupted for the majority of the two (2) day closure.  Staff will answer phones as soon as possible, however, customers should plan accordingly.

Beginning November 15th, the Utility is encouraging customers to use the new payment drop box available next to the parking lot in front of the new operations center.  The drop box at 119 N. Water Street will remain available for dropping off payments through November 21.  All payments received at the drop box located at 119 N Water St. will be collected on Monday, November 22nd and the drop box will be closed at this location and will no longer be available for use.

Customers may use the new drop box beginning November 15.  Payments may not be posted to the accounting system during the closure.

The Utility office will reopen at 8:00am on Wednesday, November 17.  Normal office hours will remain 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. BRFMU appreciates everyone's cooperation and patience during this transition.  An open house will be planned for the spring.

Operations CenterThe 22,000 square foot Operations Center will provide a consolidated location for parts inventory, vehicle storage (which the Utility has been without for more than 10 years), all Utility staff operations, and an outdoor storage yard. The old "office," which is part of the Hydro production facility, will remain but will be utilized as overflow storage space.
